Appearance: Strongly concentrated ruby red colour.
Aroma: Fresh and very fruity aromas reminiscent of ripe plum and blackberry.
Palate: Strong, dense and concentrated structure. Tannins well present but soft and well incorporated in the whole. Not astringent. Good typicity.
Red vinho verde, due to its particular characteristics, should always be served during a meal. It should accompany red meat dishes, sausages and typical Portuguese dishes like "sarabulho", "Lampreia", "Cabidela".
