Gin is a distilled drink based on cereals. It then goes through a process of infusion with juniper and other spices. It has an alcohol content between 37.5% and 50%, depending on the brand.

Each brand stands out for a unique combination of ingredients, of which juniper berries are compulsory by law. Other ingredients may be used by each brand to obtain its own characteristics. Among the most used ingredients, besides juniper, are cinnamon, citrus fruit peels, coriander seeds, allspice, liquorice root, peppercorns and others.
