Brandy is a spirit produced by the distillation of wine. Brandy usually contains 35-60% alcohol by volume (70-120 tasting USA ) and is drunk as a digestive after dinner . Some brandies are aged in wooden casks. Varieties of brandy can be found throughout the world of wine. Among the best known are Cognac and Armagnac from southwest France and in Portugal in Lourinhã.
