Region: Douro (Vale do Pinhão and Vale de Mendiz)
Quinta da Manoella has a newer vineyard, 35 years old, with separately planted grape varieties. In the middle of the centenary vineyards, this younger parcel gives the Quinta the stamp of the new generations, inspiring for the future.
Its grapes are also trodden in the press, extracting the best compounds from the skins. The softness of the oak barrels used rounds off the tannins and gives the wine volume. This is how Manoella wine displays the youth of Quinta da Manoella, with exceptional colour, full of fresh fruit and remarkable persistence.
Grapes: 60% Touriga Nacional, 25% Touriga Franca, 10% Tinta Roriz and 5% Tinta Francisca.
The grapes were selected and destemmed and fermented in a grape press by foot for 8 days. Ageing took place in used French oak barrels for 16 months.
Beautiful purple colour, fresh notes of blackberry, raspberry and spices. In the mouth round and velvety tannins persist excellent concentration and freshness.
